Included in your dues is membership in the Milwaukee County Public Links Association (MCPLA). The MCPLA was founded in 1934 with the purpose of promoting inter-club competition in Milwaukee County. The Brown Deer, Currie, Grant and Greenfield Clubs formed the nucleus of the organization. The Whitnall, Dretzka and Oakwood Clubs joined between 1953 and 1972.
Today, the seven clubs include almost 750 golfers and provide their members with a varied calendar of competition. Each club member is also a member of the Wisconsin Public Links Association (WPLA), and the Wisconsin State Golf Association (WSGA).
The MCPLA acts as a liaison with the Milwaukee County Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture on all golf matters and coordinates the scheduling of each Club’s events with the Office of Milwaukee County Parks.
The MCPLA hosts 3 Tournaments annually:
-
MCPLA Spring Championship
-
MCPLA 2 Man Best Ball Championship
-
MCPLA Arnold Walker Milwaukee County Championship
