Two great shots from Cary Schmidt made him the 2010 Club Champion. He hit his drive on the first playoff hole (#1) about 275 yds left center. The normally straight shooter Larry Kleineider hit his drive into the right rough about 75 yds from the back left pin. Larry could only manage to get his shot onto the green, leaving him with a forty-five foot putt. Cary seized the opportunity by hitting a great pitch to about a foot of the pin. Larry knowing he had to make his putt to advance to a second playoff hole, left his putt about five feet short which virtually assured Cary of winning the coveted title for 2010. This is Cary's first, of I'm sure, many titles in his future. Cary's swing coach and noted sports psychologist Rich Luczkowski is quoted as saying "This kid is still learning the game, and when he gets his course management going he'll be the favorite at all the tourneys he enters."
Steve Amble used a great shot from off the green to sink the hopes of Jerry Hoernke from claiming a net title. Steve used his putter to drain a shot of about 30 feet to edge out Jerry. Jerry could have the title, but he was rattled when the horn was blown to start an outing at Grant when he was about to hit his approach shot to the green of about twenty yards. There is an unsubstantiated rumor that Steve Amble phoned the starter from the 18th tee to tell them to blow the horn. There is an ongoing investigation into this. Jerry ended up with a seven on the hole while Steve made a five. The difference between first and second was one stroke.
